Albrecht Altdorfer (around 1480 - 1538)
Art Style:Renaissance
Albrecht Altdorfer, also Albrecht Altdorffer (circa 1480 in Altdorf, near Landshut or Regensburg; † 12 February 1538 in Regensburg), was a German painter, copper engraver, woodcutter and master builder of the Renaissance. Along with Wolf Huber, he is considered an important representative of the so-called Danube School, a style movement along the Danube in Bavaria and Austria. The artists of this art movement are also known as "wild painters from the Danube". Together with Albrecht Dürer, whose student he is considered, he is seen as the founder of the Little Masters of Nuremberg.
